Overview:
Grangemouth Refinery is one of the six remaining refineries in the UK and the only refinery in Scotland. With a refining capacity of 210,000 barrels per day, Grangemouth plays a leading role in supplying Scotland’s fuel demand and is of strategic importance to Scotland’s energy supply and regional economic development.
The refinery as an old asset required a contractor to implement RBI for them. The main aim was to see if any of the equipment in TAR pan could be excluded from the turnaround.
What we did:
Doosan Babcock as the main RBI contractor, asked LifeTech Engineering to provide our software RBLX and help them in implementing the project. LifeTech Engineering provided the software for the duration of the project.
We also provided a comprehensive RBI training course to the client. During the project, we were involved in the corrosion and RBI assessments. The project was successfully completed in time.
